In 1759, Johan Georg Frst (or Frster) was born, though at what location, we do not know (he died in 1821).  It could be that he was an immigrant, as the spelling of his first and middle names has not been Anglicized yet (there is a possibility that he emigrated via the ship Crawford  in 1773, traveling from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, through Cowes, which is on the southern coast of the UK, and on to Philadelphia; but the name is not unique and on some ship rosters, boys under age 16 were not even listed; women were not listed at all).  He married Angenes Schneider (date of birth unknown, died in 1813). They are buried in Clinton County, PA, with no headstone but rather a "memorial stone: with the following inscription:   "These mountain stones mark the resting place in Christ of Johan Georg Furst and Angenes Schneider - the progenitors of the Furst family in this region."  One of their children was Samuel Furst (Furster?) who lived from 1793 to 1872.  Samuel married Mary Wilt (1805-1885) and one of their children was the Reverend Martin Luther Furst (1844-1908).  He married Austa Elder (?-1957) and their child was Gordon Fair Furst (1895-1951) - see below.

Engagement Announced

At an attractive party given Saturday evening, Feb. 26, 1922, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Callahan, the engagement of their daughter, Lelia, to Gordon Furst, of New Castle, Pa., was announced. Mr. Furst, of New Castle, Pa., is the son of the late Rev. Luther Furst and Mrs. Austa Furst, of New Castle. The announcement was made in a most unique manner. Slips of paper which were numbered were provided for the guest and the person drawing the lucky number was given a bow and arrow and the privilege of shooting at a crepe paper heart which hung from the chandelier. As the arrow pierced the heart a shower of slips fluttered out, each bearing the names of Lelia A. Callahan and Gordon F. Furst.
Forty guests were present. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out. Favors were tiny pink nut cups. Aides in serving were Mrs. Ione Copestick, Misses Ethel Jones, Hedwig Anderson and Theo Callahan.
